Day 010 – Groceries At Last!

_Captain’s Log, StarDate 2007.07.16-??.??_

As usual, my weekend spilled over into the wee hours of Monday morning and I showed up in office probably more weary than I had left on Friday. By late afternoon I had so much caffiene in my body that the story repeated itself at night 🙂

In the evening we went grocery shopping to one of the stores run by Sri Lankans here. The so-called “groceries” were mostly frozen to death and we were expected to pay through our noses for their last rites. We searched high and low for good old MTR microwavable packets, and found some museum pieces dating back to 2004.

There were about 9 of us and we took the bus back to the hotel. Buses are not very wide and offer an excellent all-round view. Ticketing system is not foolproof 😉

Cooked pulao at night; unfortunately rice : veggies ratio turned out to be something like 80 : 20 (the mysterious Pareto principle at work again).
